Scotty, the lucky cat
« on: June 04, 2008, 07:35:03 AM »

We got hit with another fire that swept over 800 acres through the neighborhoods and many church members had their houses threathened with fire sweeping close by and burning right up to their houses, it was hectic and dangerous few hours but God protected them. Out of the fire came this interesting story about "Scotty.. one lucky cat" that I am sure pet lovers will appreciate........

Thank you for sharing this. We forget (or some do) that there are always animals (small and domestic) and birds that suffer in fires. I find the best in people come out when their attention is turned toward an innocent creature of God. I'm sure God smiles with joy when He sees us take care of these little creatures. I am hoping the best for this kitty. He knows that he is loved by those who care for him. Animals are smart. We don't give them enough credit!  :purr:

And, many an pet animal has saved the family from being burnt to death in a house fire. I've read many stories to that effect. :dogwag: :cat:

They are so loyal too. Often, more loyal than people.  :puppykisses:  :purr: :beagle: :rabbit:

The latest...

"COLLIER COUNTY: Scotty the cat is finally going home. The cat was burned in the Golden Gate Estates fire and was saved by a quick-thinking neighbor.

Scotty is fully recovered from the severe burns he received during the Golden Gate Estates brush fire a few weeks ago.

Neighbor Glenn Nichols saved the cat by putting it in a water tank, which extinguished the flames.

Scotty could barely walk. His legs were bandaged and his eyes and ears were burned.

"It made me cry," said Nichols.

Scotty was given free veterinary care and lots of tender loving care.

After his traumatic ordeal, Nichols decided to officially adopt the neighborhood stray.

He already has taken in four other stray cats and one stray dog.

"He found me and I found him we found each other and he's been my friend since," said Nichols.

To make sure Scotty doesn't lose his owner in the event of another fire, he now has a microchip..........."
