Val Thomas’ doctors honestly can’t explain how she is alive today.

Thomas, who lives in West Virginia, is being called a medical miracle after she suffered two heart attacks and had no brain waves for more than 17 hours; reports NewsNet5.com.

Thomas’ heart stopped around 1:30 a.m. Saturday and doctors said she had no pulse. Rigor mortis started to set in, and she was placed on a respiratory machine.

“Her skin had already started to harden and her fingers curled,” Thomas’ son, Jim, told NewsNet5.com. “Death had set in.”

Thomas, 59, was rushed to a West Virginia hospital, where she was put on a special machine to induce hypothermia. This would allow her body to cool down for 24 hours before they would warm her up again, doctors explained.

However, Thomas’ heart stopped again after the procedure.

Her family said their goodbyes and Thomas’ tubes were removed, but she remained hooked on a ventilator as the possibility of organ donation was discussed.

However, Thomas woke up 10 minutes later and started talking.

“The nurse said, ‘I’m so sorry, Mrs. Thomas,’ and mom said, ‘That’s OK, honey, that’s OK,’” Jim Thomas said.

Val Thomas was transferred to the Cleveland Clinic so that specialists could check her out, but doctors said they could find nothing wrong with her.

“I know God has something in store for me, another purpose,” Val Thomas said. “I don’t know what it is, but I’m sure he’ll tell me.”

I once heard a professor go down that track with the story of Christ.

Problem is, how did he ge past that stone and the special guards? Amongst other issues.

Problem is, how dod he ge past that stone and the special guards? Amongst other issues.

As this is not Christ we are talking about, I doubt he had to wory about the guards and the stone.

I don'y know what happened here, but we had a young man in our church that did about the same thing. He was driving to fast and lost it going around a curve and wrapped himself around a tree, no seat belt so severe head injuries.

They tried in vain at the hospital to stabilize him. They finally prounced him dead ,covered him and left the room. They could detect no hearbeat, blood pressure or brain activity.

When the nurse went back in to finish up and get the body ready to go to the morgue, He started to move. Eveyone went into high gear and the young man is alive and doing quite well. He was left with some minor deficits, but by no means what he should have been

These people have been preserved for some good reason and I would hope that they would make it "worth it" . I would hope they understand their destiny with Christ and just how much they owe
for the precious gift of life.

None of that for me!
When I am to die I want no one to do heroics to bring me back!

Theologically I am at a quandary on who has the power over death.
Are circumstances the cause of our death in the cases of accidents?
Or ..
did God put his hand purposely out to take the life of the participant who dies?
Or..
do we have responsibility in our time of death because the cause and effect of mistreating our bodies resulted in the shutdown at a particular time?
Or..
Does Satan have abilities to lead people into death thus being the cause why/how they died?

Death by circumstances, God's leading, Satan's leading, our mismanagement?
Of couse the curse of mortal death is in us all.
The promise of years is biblically seen as three score and ten.
However, many of us don't live to see 70 years.
