Rise of the Neophytes, Part II
« on: August 17, 2012, 09:05:08 AM »

In the Spectrum article, http://spectrummagazine.org/blog/2012/08/12/response-gcs-qa-regarding-current-issues, we see that barely contained rage of the neophyte.

Like a Sunday-keeper when presented with the Sabbath truth, he leaps from false argument to sand-built excuse to defend his air castle.

Who said "If you always tell the truth, you don't need a memory."?

This WO movement needs a lot of memory, because they keep on a lyin'!

The article states: "Authority cannot be simply asserted; it must be granted. The fact is that on July 29 the Columbia Union Conference, in an act of spiritual and theological integrity, refused to grant the General Conference the authority the General Conference currently claims."
The writer of that statement should check his pants to see if they are on fire.

The FACT is, the CUC itself already recognized the GC's authority in this matter! How soon we conveniently forget!

" On March 20, the Columbia Union Executive Committee passed the following action:

Whereas the North American Division (NAD) Leadership has encouraged each union to be intentional in affirming women in ministry, we vote to establish an AdHoc Committee to study the issue of women in ministry and recommend to the Columbia Union Executive Committee how we can be intentional in affirming women in ministry. In addition, we vote to affirm our previous action requesting the NAD to grant us permission to ordain women in ministry."

What did the CUC do? They requested PERMISSION from the GC (North American Division) to ordain women. You only request permission of someone whom you recognize has authority over you.

And so, the neophytes continue their rebellion...

All of that was simply to emphasize the embarrassment of being caught making such a dumb blunder. Since they asked permission of the NAD of the GC, they acknowledged that the GC has the authority to say "No."
