Meet 3ABN's new attorney, Anthony J. Alt
« on: June 14, 2012, 10:04:31 AM »

On behalf of 3ABN, Attorney Anthony Alt moved to appear pro hac vice on June 6, in Alex's case. (#61 at http://www.3abnvjoy.com/ilsd-12cv00114/).

One might speculate that Greg Simpson has finally had to withdraw from representing 3ABN. Either that or he felt he might need some assistance.

It seems intriguing that the new attorney has joined the case so soon after Alex's deposition on May 30.

Anthony obtained his BA from St. Gregory's in 2001, and his law degree from Ave Marie School of Law in 2009. (http://www.meagher.com/aalt/). Thus he appears to be a good bit younger than Simpson.

Bob, mere speculation which appears to be wrong:

Quote
Anthony is an associate in the insurance coverage group at Meagher & Geer. His practice focuses on advising insurance carriers on coverage issues, and includes preparing opinions and litigating coverage matters and bad-faith claims. When working with insurers, Anthony draws upon his background as an underwriting specialist in the financial services industry to obtain cost-effective solutions.

Mr. Alt has entered the case on behalf of the incurance company that has provided the coverage in this case for 3-ABN.

In a nutshell, he will: advise the insurance company as to how the case is goins, suggest to the insurance company when, if and the amount that they should offer to settle and finally intervene in a manner to protect the interests of the insurance company.

If Mr. Alt is the attorney for the insurance company, do you think that Greg Simpson will be the only one defending 3ABN?

Isn't it strange that Mr. Alt is a Catholic?  At least that is what Ave Marie Univ. is.

Any way of knowing how Alex's deposition went?

3-ABN will likely have more than one attorney involved in defending them.  Simpson may coordinate and/or manage the defense.

Could this have anything to do with:Revelation 17:8
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Read my citation.  That is what he does.  That is his legal specialty.

Could I be wrong?  Yes.

When I had surgery on my eye in January, that surgery was not performed by an orthopedic surgeon, although such could legally have done the eye surgery.  Rather it was done by a specialized retina surgeon.

Attornies who specialize in a field of law generally work in that speciality.

I heard that Alex had some interesting exchanges in the deposition.

I understood that this case would begin in 2013.

Is it actually starting now?

The case began in 2011. The trial, if there is one, may not begin until 2013. But depositions are something you have to do before trial. Rules are looser during depositions concerning the questions that get asked, I believe. It's part of discovery, trying to find the relevant facts that will help your case.

So 3ABN has only Greg Simpson, who should know by this time what he is dealing with in 3ABN, plus the new lawyer who may or may not  be there strictly for insurance purposes?

Probably Alex's lawyer will need to prove that 3ABN was aware that Tommy Shelton was engaging in pedophilic activities at a time that could implicate him in regards to Alex.

I think there is evidence that in 2007 Walt Thompson claimed to have a letter from the District Attorney vindicating Tommy Shelton from above activities, maybe to convince the board to hire Tommy at that time?

But how far back does it all go?

Maybe Walt Thompson was just claiming to have a letter.
