Is reality setting in?
« on: April 12, 2010, 09:39:41 AM »

Has anyone else noticed how silent the defenders have become? Not that I'm complaining, mind you. However, it makes you wonder why they disappeared all at once. Do they finally realize that the jig is up?

It would be about time reality set in!!  What could you possibly say to defend such acts on children.

Is reality setting in for the 3ABN defenders?

Is reality setting in for the Seventh-day Adventist church?

Are the leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church waiting to see what happens and to see how much and how bad the publicity is to know which side of the fence to come down on? If everything comes out in the national press there are members who may be very disillusioned in them to find out that the church was in spite of everything tacitly condoning "Danny as saint" propaganda in 2010 although they knew it wasn't true. Most members have faith that the church will guide them and feel betrayed if they feel they have been deliberately misled. Look what is happening in the national press about the pope's knowledge and actions regarding hiding child abuse.

Even if enough proof and documentation has been presented, and even if much more comes out, some people may not be aware of it. If they are aware of the claims (and most aren't) they may still not know who to believe or feel competent to judge for themselves. They will instead believe or go along with current popular opinion until the church takes a stand or until it comes out in the national press and popular opinion changes.

The church will probably go with the flow like "family reunion" on Hope! Some good some bad.

Sorry offtopic but this came up and I am confused. What do you mean by some good some bad in "Family Reunion"? From what I understand they are all put on by The Voice Of Prophecy. IMO I understand by watching the programs, most of the singers are the same ones in each video. I would like to understand the "some good, some bad" remark. It appears that you are equating Voice of Prophecy with 3ABN to some extent.

If I errored in my opinion of this remark please pardon me.

guide4him,

This probably is not the right place on thread, but have made several comments on the SP guidance we have and then watch on Family Reunion it is about the observance of everything against SP. Red, brown, or purple Nail Polish, cherry berry lips, strapless dresses, jewelry, wedding rings ok'd by church and not SP. spiked, bleached and hussy looking hair, hand clapping, jiving, charismatic hullabaloo most women in pants and the raising of the unclean hands, with banshee looking red or purple hair from the lights visible with you name it they got it. Yea, we are in the "new age". But they must please the public, copy Gaither and most of all put SP in the trash. Gaither is sincere in what they believe-- it just the Adventist not doing what they are supposed guided to believe. It is not evident on "Family Reunion." Have you noticed how the camera man picks it out and shows all of it. Wondering if it is on purpose to let all know that anything goes or showing the disrespect for SP? It is no longer Adventism and therefore you can watch the same on other Christian channels as they are no different. Just disgusting for the SDA to produce that. It sure can be done differently to worship God instead of the public!!!

I know it is hard not to be loyal and follow any longer. But I know when they make a line to draw. It actually hurts to see it go in this direction. What good does it do to get new people into new doctrines or changes of SP or new age behavior? One little thing leads to many big things.

And in what religious bodies are the greater part of the followers of Christ now to be found?  Without doubt, in the various churches professing the Protestant faith.  At the time of their rise these churches took a noble stand for God and the truth, and His blessing was with them.  Even the unbelieving world was constrained to acknowledge the beneficent results that followed and acceptance of the principles of the gospel.  In the words of the prophet to Israel" "Thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through My comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God".  But they fell by the same desire which was the curse and ruin of Israel--the desire of imitating the practices and courting the friendship of the ungodly.  "Thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown." Ezekiel 16:14, 15.

Now that is much nicer said then my adjectives.

Thank you... I haven't been watching the latest family reunion programs. I agree dress nails and hair should not be displayed in a christian setting.

I remember watching a church service few years ago on tv with Walla Walla Orchestra playing during WWU church service and some of the dresses worn were an embarrassment.
