I was reminded of your discussion here when I listened to a local radio program where people could call the station and discuss whatever they want to. I understand the talk master is a lawyer whose youth friend was a Seventh-day Adventist, who was killed in an automobile accident.
The first caller I heard was a Lutheran who was upset because the local slaughterhouse permitted a Muslim Imman to say a prayer over the lambs and calves as they were slaughtered in order to market the meat in the Middle East and for local Muslim consumption. This Lutheran said the Bible in Acts forbids him to eat any meat that has been offered to idols.
Then followed quite a discussion on meat, and fish, and the strange diet of Muslims. Since they all come from other countries they should just eat like the people do in the country where they are now like visitors.
Then a man called who said he had a male cousin who was a Seventh-day Adventist. He had tried in vain to convince him he should be eating pork, but he was not able to talk any sense into his head. He had two sisters, and one of them was an Adventist too, and she also had this strange notion against pork of any kind.
A lady called stating she could not eat meat at all because her blood was type A, so her diet consisted mainly of vegetarian food, and she loved to add lobsters and shrimps to her salads.
At other times capitalists call in to state that is the only way to live, and then come the Social Democrats who don't mind paying for the insurance on their cars.
