The cat that thinks she is queen. When I was packing for a weekend trip a couple of weeks ago, I think Miss Kitty wanted to go along

Isn't she precious? 

She came to our deck as a stray. Prior to our moving to our current home a woman had six house cats and when she moved she just threw them out. Mama Kitty took to our deck one fall. I fed her every day but did not let her in. My husband didn't want a cat.
The next winter in 20below weather she was crying outside the patio door,Lifting one foot then the other trying to stay warm. My husband decided she needed to come in for awhile and she is still here 6 years later.

I've been welcoming to a cat that looks 'suspiciously'  like yours.      Of course it isn't yours, but sure has the same coloring and stripes!      I was fine with it on my porch until I discovered dirt tracks from my porch trees on my chairs and dirt on my hummingbird feeder yesterday morning.  Then last night I found the rascal lying on the railing right next to the other bird feeder and decided that he/she? better 'git' and right now!

I'm sorry because I think maybe it has been abandoned in a way in favor of a new pet but I'm not certain and don't want to cause friction with the neighbor.  I haven't been able to contact her but will keep on trying.   

And then wouldn't ya know -- I went and dropped my nearly full, new hummingbird feeder and broke it this morning trying to get the nasty little ants off'n it - daggone it!    

Such is life, I guess.

Mama Kitty does pretty well with our birds. She will cause a commontion sometimes with out mama cardinal. The cardinal made a nest in the evergreen tree that is on the side of our house.. The cat will give the mama bird a bored look when she gets scolded and yawn and laydown. She lays under the feeders but the birds and the cat seem to have struck a deal.   You stay down and we will stay up, and it seems to work for the two
She has gotten so spoiled tho that she borders on obnoxious. If I don't respond with what she wants, when she wants it, she complains loudly and keeps winding herself around my feet till I do as she wants.

Our 'Ginger' came to us as a stray too. Our 'Rusty' had been hit by a car a couple of weeks earlier (about the same moment as I'd been told that I had a cancer behind my eye). It was all too much for my husband, to the extent that one of our daughters and a daughter in law had to come down to help me get ready to go to the 'big smoke' to see a specialist about my eye.

When we came home (and it wasn't cancer. It was a hemorrhage behind my eye), there was this bedraggled ginger stray here in the Community. We were told that the residents had done all they could to send it away; like throwing stones at it, not feeding etc etc, but it refused to leave. My husband wouldn't even look at it for a couple of days, as he was never going to have another pet.

My husband finally saw it, and that was it. Poor kitty was terrified of people. It had obviously been mistreated and was afraid of people's footsteps and especially scared of my wheelie-walkie. The Community rules also stated that people could bring a pet with them, but once it died, they were not allowed to replace it. This particular lot of managers didn't see it that way though.

It was decided by the other residents that this cat had to be adopted by the Community, but it had to live at our Units. The 'Community Social Fund' paid for his initial Vet fees, and he has gradually become trusting of even the people who come to visit us.

So, there he is now. Curled up on the end of our bed, with the electric blanket underneath him.  When my husband finally makes a move to get ready for Church, Ginger will get up and stretch himself and come out and sit in front of the heater near me. I just told them both to get up and 'Ginger' gave me a little 'meow', while Grumpy acknowledged me with a 'grunt'.

He is such a blessing to us and the residents here believe that he was sent by Divine intervention. Whatever the reason, he's with us to stay!

Maybe God saw that you needed one another and made a good situation out of a bad one
