The Writer to the Hebrews affirms  "...but this man,[Jesus Christ] after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down at the right hand of God;" Heb.10:12 and Peter declares of Jesus Christ "who  is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto Him."1Peter 3:22.

I confess that I continue to struggle, after all these years of being a member of the SDA church, with the idea that, given the revelations of these Apostles as quoted above, Jesus Christ at his ascension was engaged in a first apartment ministry in heaven and in 1844 entered into a second apartment ministry in heaven and thus commenced an/the Investigative Judgment.

My thinking on this whole antitypical two apartment ministry is that Jesus' earthly ministry and His death, the shedding of His blood, was akin to the daily sacrifice first apartment ministry, and the application of the merits of his blood sitting at the right hand of God is the second apartment ministry and that this began immediately upon His ascension and not nearly two millenia after He went to the Father.

Is my thinking on this too simplistic and not consonant with scripture?

It's not too simplistic but your conclusion from the verses you quoted from Hebrews do not reflect type and antitype. In the type it is undeniable that there was the ministry in the first apartment of the sanctuary on a daily basis and then at the end of the year began the ministry in the second apartment. The second apartment ministry was the final atonement.

These two ministries were but the shadow of things to come. Christ entered the first apartment of the heavenly sanctuary at His ascension and He remained within that apartment with the Father until the second apartment ministry began at the end of the 2300 prophetic days which ended, as we all know, on the 22nd of October 1844. Then both the Father and the Son moved from the first apartment to the second apartment to begin the final atonement. Since then we have been living in the anti-tipycal day of atonement. When the mission of the gospel is completed, the great final test will come and the judgment of the living will take place. Those who successfully pass the scrutiny of the judgment of the living will receive the final atonement and therefore the final seal. Then Jesus will pronounce the irrevocable sentence, "He that is unholy, let him be holy still and him that is unrighteous, let him be unrighteous still; and him that is holy, let him be holy still, and him that is righteous, let him be righteous still." Rev.22:11.

Probation will have closed and the remnant will go through the time of Jacob's trouble to be translated without seeing death.

Do you think we will actually har Him saying those words to us? Or is this a general condition?
