Ellen White's counsel re: 3ABN World
« on: February 25, 2010, 05:22:09 AM »

Quote from: Ellen White
It is not the business of any of God's stewards to extol any human being, be he living or dead. God has given us no such message to bear. Let all who by pen or voice are brought before the public be sifted of all inclination to laud any human being; for in doing this work they are entirely out of their boundary. ...

In our periodicals we are not to exalt the work and characters of men in positions of influence, constantly keeping human beings before the people. But as much as you please you may uplift Christ our Saviour. "We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory [from character to character], even as by the Spirit of the Lord." Those who love and serve God are to be the light of the world, shining amid moral darkness. (CW 19, 20)

Those messages are always welcome to be reminded for those that love God and that seek right way of character, but too sad is that Shelton's amongst much of our so carefully selected messages that we were blessed to get is probably not in their curriculum to ever have read or understood or took the time to as it is against their life style. His character is viewed, formed & delivered through 3abn and observed by those that appreciate and love the last messages given for the defects in our characters. Those against SP are not seeking answers for better character. "Just keep sending the money, Ill tell you what you want to hear" and the lame just keep following.

Oh Puhleeze--no one is "extoling" any human being on 3ABN.  However there is One they do extol each and every day, hour and minute. Praise the Lord that He is lifted up as King and Saviour of the world.

Also for your information, 3ABN uplifts the Spirit of Prophecy and you would know that if you would watch the programming.  Too bad that you are so uninformed on what is really going on at 3ABN. I would suggest that you go visit the place you think you know so much about.  It just might surprise you.

People send their donations to 3ABN because TRUTH is being preached and thousands are being baptized into the truth.  Praise the Lord for the hard workers there who love Jesus Christ and see the value of souls being saved.

When was the last time you brought someone to the truth and watched them be baptized?

Just a few observations:

Firstly, I just finished reading 3ABN World.  I don't feel a deeper conviction or a call to a closer walk with God from reading it.  I find it to be shallow reading.  At the same time, if the purpose of it is to inform me of the happenings at 3ABN, it surely has and should not be criticized for so doing.  It would not be out of place for their magazine to tell what they are doing even if I think it should have a different purpose.

Secondly, too bad inflection can't be heard in writing.  Please understand me.  I don't bring someone to the truth. God does.  It was not that long ago that I witnessed three family members be lowered in the watery grave.  What a thrilling moment for me.  Since that time, the husband has requested baptism.  Is it because I worked hard to teach them or because they learned it from me?  No, it is the goodness of God that led to repentance.  Let us avoid (I am speaking to both sides now) character assassination and deal with the facts.

Since Danny Shelton put into the lawsuit the wrongful termination of the trust services workers, I've had to deal with that issue. I thought it profound that right after Leonard Westphal got in trouble yet again over his rage, and over making indecent comments about sexual things and fat people, and over racial issues, that 3ABN had the nerve to plaster his face on the front cover of 3ABN World. That was entirely inappropriate.

But then when you look at various issues of the magazine, it does seem to spend time and space glorifying some people who shouldn't be glorified.

When was the last time you ... watched them be baptized?

Last Sabbath. And you?

Junebug,
no doubt they do all you say except everything you say does not reflect their actions. Actions do not match their words and no I do not have the time of day for their words or displays. I was deceived long enough and had my fill of it.
