Obama Builds A 12 Point Lead...is the die cast, and how does this affect us as Adventist?

"...Barack Obama has managed to pile up a double digit lead over John McCain, according to an LA Times/ Bloomberg Poll. Respondents split 49% to 37% for Obama in a head-to-head match.

Obama's 12 point lead only grows when pollsters throw independent candidate Ralph Nader and Libertarian Bob Bar into the mix. On a four man ballot voter's support grows for Obama, 48% to 33%, giving him a 15 point spread over McCain.

The base of Obama's success in this poll appears to come from his relative strength against McCain on domestic issues. Democratic and independent voters both say that Obama would do a better job handling the economy, which ranks as the public's top concern. McCain does better on national security issues.

The vast majority of Hillary Clinton supporters have filed behind Obama. McCain only manages to siphon off 11% of Clinton supporters. He also fails to energize his base. Only 58% of voters who describe themselves as conservatives say they'll vote for McCain and 15% of them plan to cross party lines to support Obama. In contrast, 79% of self describe liberals say they will vote for Obama....."

If Obama sweeps McCain and becomes President of the United States, what does this mean for Adventist and Christians especially with the influence and prominance of Oprah and her new age religion...

The decision to vote for candidates is a personal decision. If you vote, "keep your voting to yourself. Do not feel it your duty to urge everyone to do as you do." Selected Messages, book 2, p. 337.

Hmmm, It seems we are no longer voting for normal canidates as usual or normal. We are now fighting for freedom issues down to the last. We have no choice. EGW said to prolong freedom as long as you can. It is no longer a government where the American people can believe either side other then to watch actions that are going down that is against what God laid out for the land of freedom of religion. It is fast closing and I believe Adventists should be at the front informing people of facts instead of sleeping on it. But who in the end will come to tho forefront?? SOP clearly states who.

No, This time has lasted much longer then EW ever thought it would. It was bad enough in her time with the view she had an she will be in amazment just how far and long this went. We are supposed to have men stationed in these positions of political knowledge . Why and where do you get their reports and show the connections that are happening right before our eyes. I do realize that a lot of Adventists are still into the games and movies and sit coms instead of what is happening. IF we have to endure it it might as well be head on as be dumbfounded on what hit us.

Tinka,

I would doubt that in the months that Obama has been in office that he has milk the country anywhere close to GWB. Obama has yet to change any healthcare system but the thought of that really get you down. My guess is you are afraid that perhaps some mexican or other will get medical help and God forbid that that should happen.

Moderator hat on : Christian, it is not necessary to become personally offensive.  Take this as a warning. I have edited the post this time.   Emma
