New Members and Spam
« on: October 22, 2010, 08:14:04 AM »

Today we had six applicants for membership. Five of these were rejected because they are reported to be known spammers.

In the past we have rejected quite a number of spammers. If you know of anyone who has been rejected who is not a spammer, then let us know and we will reconsider the application.

Yes we went through that for quite a while at BSDA.  They don't care, any site they can hack into will do for them.  Kept us quite busy for a while.

I found that "nonmilk" is a spammer even if he might be a vegetarian.

There have been more than 800 applicants of which we have accepted 372. Most of those not accepted have been spammers.

Some questionable names have been placed where they have to activate their accounts before participating.

Let us know if you have any questions.

I saw on the TV news that hackers in France seem attempting to block the net. Wonder if this is what is happening to us too?

Until now I have been deleting all applicants because none of them seem real.
