Title: Cut Alleged Tithe Worthys From Local Church Conduit
Post by: irspro on August 21, 2008, 02:26:11 AM
Any alleged independent ministry where the local church member has no direct vote to that organization is not tithe worthy no matter what they allege on any URL or printed material.

That is a very true statement!

3ABN has claimed both that they do and do not accept tithe, according to some.

Has Jesus ever given us an example to get "hot in the collar" when the GC effective quashes a source of funds no matter how well founded the material needs or the morality of the matter.  He didn't stop long enough to fetch a loaf of bread before exiting the city even when they didn't have to knock Him down to indicate his worn welcome!

"Was Jesus mentally unbalanced when he urged his followers to willingly give their coats after they were forced from their cloaks?"

And we have been reasonably advised to "turn the other cheek!"  This bit of admonition may be offensive to those that are apt to get "hot in the collar and file a lawsuit!"  Is that an occupational sickness of the "independent leanings"  who are apt to need moderatings?

For the record, 3ABN admits to accepting tithes and receipting the same and does not pass tithe through to the local conference that it receipts. It claims to have an exception to the ASI Tithe Rule claiming they cannot determine the source of the tithe or whether the giftee is a Seventh-day Adventitist and therefore must accept the tithe and use it for it's 3ABN designated purposes. Perhaps Hartland Hope and Steps to Life could assert the same and regain ASI membership???

In fact, couldn't any independent or supporting ministry assert the same premise?

Just an excuse for disobedience to ASI policy and procedure and self justification from my perspective. I wonder how Hamilton handles it?
